The month of June is now behind us and that means that half the year is in the books. With that, I’m getting even closer to unveiling the 250th burger in a search that has officially lasted 5 years.

Over the course of the last five years, I had the chance to visit many local restaurants and even some outside the borders of this province. During that time, I’ve been limited by the island of Montréal, the city of Laval, and the agglomeration of Longueuil. Being confined by the 3 zones of public transit, going out further has been tougher. Well, on a nice day in the month of May, I found myself in a strange city, at a place called Limani.

Over the course of visiting the number of restaurants I do, I don’t really get the chance to revisit places. Regardless of the circumstances, I always take advantage of the opportunity to go back to a place where I had something worth remembering. So, for the second time in almost two years, I found myself back at Atomic in Laval.
Burgers aren’t the only thing that gets featured here on the GBS. From time to time, I get the chance to try other things that don’t necessarily fit my domain of specialty. These dishes are some that I’ll remember for a time to come.

One of the most highly contested areas in Montreal cuisine is that of Greek food. There are literally dozens of worthy contenders to the title of who makes Greek food worth trying. While we all have our trusted favorites, once in a while. there comes new players that we must stop to take notice. One of the latest players on the scene is a place in the Plateau area of Montreal called Estia.

Greek food and large group gatherings have become a vital part of my food adventures in Montreal. Ever since I’ve been to my first real Greek restaurant in September of 2011, I’ve been looking forward to every and each opportunity I could get. Most of those Greek outings, even if they were organized by me, came from the head of someone else. This would be the first time that I would be the one to choose the Greek restaurant. The pressure was going to be on my head.

Colleague outings aren’t things that I’m too interested in. It seems to me that they revolve around things that I’m not too fond of. It takes a lot of unique factors to make me want to come. This was the second outing that didn’t quite interest me at first. Mind you, I’m getting pretty fond of having Greek food, but on this particular Friday evening, it wasn’t quite enough to draw me in.
