My recent visit to La Maison Bulgogi had to be capped off with something decent like dessert.  Lately, I’ve been taking every chance to try dessert places in Montreal, ranging from ice cream, to pies, and now to cake.

It’s been almost a month since my disastrous Triple Chocolate Blizzard attempt in Ottawa and I was looking for a moment to redeem myself Blizzard-wise.  I figured today was the perfect opportunity to do just that.

Dairy Queen hasn’t been part of my life until that changed last year. The first time I really tried their creations (that I remember) was at the 2010 Montreal Museum Day. I got off a shuttle in Lachine and had 20 minutes to kill. So, I figured why not try something that is popular with people. Since then, I filled other notable trips, like Ottawa, with Dairy Queen visits. This year, however, was taken over by other places with other goodies. My stop today at Dairy Queen was to give everyone the chance to see what I thought of it.

Oreo Blizzard

Oreo Blizzard

Tried: June 29, 2011

This is soft-serve with Oreo cookie pieces mixed in. This is my go-to choice when I decide to brave a blizzard. This time, I chose to go medium, and that kinda backfired somewhat. Even though I finished the whole thing (I always try to), it wasn’t easy. I’m not saying that the taste was bad or nothing, but there was just so much of it. I like the fact that there are cookie pieces, but they were a little too big for me. People will tell me to try other varieties, but I think I’m good with this one. The end part of the treat is a little tough because I sort of dislike the soupy nature of melted down soft-serve. If I wanted soup, I’d go order soup from somewhere else. Even with that, the blizzard is one of my top frozen treats that I like to fill summer with.

This was my second visit ever to this location. Service was decent with nothing much to complain about. But if you order a burger, expect a wait. The place was not packed either time, so a table should not be a long wait.

Oscar Burger

This burger has all of my needed ingredients in my burger search. Though I question the way it was put together. All you note in the next picture, the bottom bun is on top of the non-meat part, which I find weird. This being my second burger experience here, I’ll say that taste was never lacking as the burger held up through the entire meal.
