Visit: November 30, 2010
Having just opened in October of 2010, the menu was one thing that caught my eye instantly. The decor of the place is absolutely incredible, as it draws upon the 1950s quite nicely, though I wouldn’t know from experience. The staff were all quite cordial. It should be noted that I wasn’t charged for my drink because it was lunch time.
The Gleason One Pounder
This burger contains lettuce, onions, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, Swiss cheese, two patties, and bacon. The immense size of the burger is the first thing one notices, other than the large knife protruding from the top. My issue with big burgers is always structure. How does one keep in so much awesomeness in such a normal bun? That’s the philosophical question one must always ask. When I mention awesomeness, this burger delivered from bite one until the end. Though, to keep it together, I had to put the burger back on the “plate” upside down. The taste was the best thing, and this will fill you up. I was expecting one patty, but was pleasantly surprised to see two. For those of you who are ever in the West Island, this new place is definitely worth a try. I do intend on going back one day to try the Bruce Lee burger.
