Today, the last Saturday before Labour Day, is one of the most prestigious holidays for all people like me. On this planet, there are millions upon millions of people who worship the cured delicacy known as bacon. Bacon has been long associated with breakfast, but as time passed, it has found itself in nearly every facet of eating. To drive that point home, did you know that bacon is a perfect dessert option? Well, after doing some more digging in the GBS archives, I’ve come up with 5 of the most extreme bacon things I’ve put in my stomach over the last 3 years.

Summer 2012 has been a very busy time for the GBS. On top of getting a lot of burgering done, I’ve been checking off a shortlist of 5 places that I had to get through before the vacation ended. That list started off at 4 places, but as time went, detailed accounts of an epic sandwich forced me to put one more item on my radar. So, for the third time this summer, I found myself at Parc Émilie-Gamelin, where the La Mangeoire would be located for the day.

Over the course of Summer 2012, I’ve been visiting a series of places that have been on a shortlist. While they haven’t been the kind of places you would necessarily hear great buzz from, they were close to what I was personally interested in. That all changes with the second to last name on that list, Grumman’78. It’s been well over a year that I’ve been dying to try what they have to offer. While I didn’t visit the truck, I took myself to the counter, which ensures that you get your taco fix all year long.

It’s officially time to start the fourth season of Mr. Lew’s Great Burger Search. Each year, choosing a burger to kick off another season is quite a difficult task. It just can’t be any place that serves a burger, it has to have something special. That’s when an event on Facebook caught my eye, which was called Winneburger. Winneburger is a ‘food truck’ put together by the crew over at the Nouveau Palais. This was interesting enough and definitely unique enough for me to choose this to start my fourth year of searching for great burgers.
