Most of us have fond memories of our neighborhoods. These are the places where we grew up and became the people we are today. Our neighborhoods had everything we needed and that satisfied us. But, there are some neighborhood places that are a little bit better than what we had and one of those is Piquillo.

In this day and age, to compete with the countless restaurant concepts, you have to do things that will stand out. When you’re thinking about the ‘All You Can Eat’ world, there is a lot of competition and there, you still have to stand out. Under the category of Brazilian Churrasco, Le Milsa provides you with as much meat as you can eat.

When it comes to expanding to different types of cuisine, I’m not that good. You can tell all that just by looking at the title of this post. Also, I’m awful when I’m put on the spot to choose a place to eat, especially when there’s a burger involved. On this day, I made my way to Prince Arthur, where I stumbled into La Caverne Grecque.

Have you ever thought about the places that sit next door to the big ones? In life, no one ever thinks about second place or even third. But, there is a time where you have to give those things a thought. Located on a very crowded street for the best of Montreal is a restaurant called Vertige.

One of the culinary domains that hasn’t been touched yet is that of Portuguese cooking. In this city, when you think of places that fit the mold, you start with chicken. A lot of people stop right there. Like every facet of food, there is always another component that is overlooked. I was hoping to see some of that at L’Étoile de l’Océan.

During the 2011-2012 season of the GBS, Greek food has found a way into my plans when it comes to eating. While there are so many big time names in that realm of cuisine on the island of Montreal, we rarely get to add newcomers to that list. On a late June afternoon, I was about to be taken to a place called Sparta to see how a relative unknown in Greek cuisine would fare.
