In the last 4 years of doing this search, I’ve always cherished each trip to the nation’s capital, Ottawa. Since 2011, I haven’t had the chance to make it to Ottawa and that was something that bothered me because I had so much left to do over there. On a random Sunday in November, I found that moment to attempt, not one, but two burgers. The first stop was at The Smoque Shack.
The year is almost at its end and the finish line is in plain sight. At this particular point, as I’m writing this, I only have 1 more burger to do in 2013. I can’t believe that we’re almost looking at 2014. November was a big month and there were a lot of interesting things that took place. One of the most notable things was the fact that I managed to reach my unique visitor total from 2012 in 11 months instead of 12. That’s one step forward.

In the burger world, 2013 will be known as a year where a few crazes took us out of the box. There were places that featured a cronut burger and some that featured other types of interesting ideas. One of those interesting ideas was the ramen burger. In New York City, a Japanese chef innovated that concept and soon thereafter, the idea spread to other places around the world. In Montréal, you can find the ramen burger at Tkrestobar.

Ever walk by a place for years and wonder what the inside looked like? There are so many places that can yield that sense of wonderment and the sad thing is that we don’t get to see all those places. So, when you have a chance to set foot inside such a place, you leap at it. This was the case with Chez Alexandre et Fils.

After over 4 years of searching for burgers, I’ve just now been going back to addresses that I’ve been to in the past. It hasn’t happened too much, but I take every opportunity I can to revisit the buildings that once house past burgers. This was the case when I had the chance to have lunch at Via Marcello.

When it comes to the most unique part of the island of Montréal, one could only go as far as the Old Port. There, you have some of the most interesting architectural buildings the city has to offer. They’ve been around for ages and it is interesting to see what occupies those places in 2013. This is where Pub St. Paul comes in.
I can’t start to say how busy October has been in just about every part of my life. I finished off the month with a week where I visited restaurants nearly every day. That way, I have a lot of my upcoming posts covered for the next month. With that being said, the monthly review posts will now feature what was posted during that month, and not what was visited. That way, it will make things a tad bit easier.

To this day, I’ve consumed 215 burgers and visited a few cities in the search for great burgers. But, when it comes to my stomping grounds of the Greater Montreal Area, there are so many stones that haven’t been turned. One my biggest wishes was to find burgers on the eastern part of the island. Well, I found a place that is one of the further east on the island in Teddy’s Deli & Bar.

Eat me. There are those foods that just shout out those two iconic words when you see them. In Montreal, there are a whole bunch of dishes that just scream the two magical words. A few months back, a hamburger and poutine bar opened up on Mont-Royal, just wanting everyone to Mange-Moi.

Pointe Saint-Charles is one of those neighbourhoods in Montreal where you can find some of the most recognized places to eat. Over the last few years, the area has been going through a slow resurgence and that is no different when it comes to the world of restaurants. Despite that, some tried and true places still remain like À la Fine Pointe.

Dorval is an important part of the island of Montreal. With a major international airport in the middle of the city, you can’t help but visit this part of the island. Not far from the train station is a small shopping center that contains some of the biggest stores in the world and a restaurant called Deli Dorval.
The beginning of the new school year is long behind us. As you can notice, I am just now catching up on my monthly recaps that give me a chance to take stock of all I’ve done. I’m going to try to put things back on the normal monthly pace.

Recently, I had the time to really think about all the burgers I had the chance to try in the last 4 years. It turns out that I tried 199 burgers in the Greater Montreal Area. Since I was headed to do my 200th burger in my territory, I wasn’t about to make that just any place. The place needed to be one that has been making waves in the world of burgers and that place is called Burger Royal.

Have you ever been in a position where you pass by the same place for years and you’re not sure what goes on in there? Well, the same can be said for restaurants. Unless you’re walking right by it and are able to see the menu, you are wondering what they have to offer. That amount of curiosity motivated me to visit a place that I’ve passed by so many times, Denos.

Everyone has that one place where they call the center of their daily life. It’s that one building that you go to every single day and somehow it revolves around everything. For literally hundreds of thousands of Montrealers and suburbanites, 1000 de la Gauchetiere is that building. Sitting in that building is a place that some people might not even know about, Ros&Lina.
