This post is the part of a joint review by myself and Foodie Date Night. It was an absolute pleasure to get to try this restaurant with them.

I’ve had my eye on this restaurant for almost 2 years. Unfortunately, my rather cramped schedule was the obstacle preventing me from coming to this establishment. They claim to have the “best” burger in Montreal. Whenever I hear anyone make that claim, I become very doubtful about it. In my opinion, there is no such thing as the best burger in Montreal, just great burgers all trying to vie for your hard earned dollar.

Voted the best burger in Ottawa for the last 7 years, The Works caught my attention months ago. Boasting 68 different combinations of burger selections, this had to be the place I tried for burger #50. I was very satisfied with the level of service, as the server was very courteous.

Blues Burger
This burger contains lettuce, blue cheese, and bacon. With so many combinations to choose from, I managed to have 3 picks in mind. I decided to take a leap of faith and go with blue cheese. This wasn’t the first time I’ve tackled blue cheese, and I think I’m done with it. Despite that, this burger is still good. The ordering process is a little different, as you have to pick a type of meat and type of bun. You can pick from a list of side dish upgrades that even includes Kraft Dinner. Overall, this burger was satisfactory and I’ll be back to try the others that peaked my interest.

An interesting corner location more known for its selection of tartar. The place is nicely spaced and still packed after 1:00 PM. Service for the entire restaurant was tended by only one waitress.

Marché 27
Burger w/Blue Cheese
The burger contains tomatoes, greens, caramelized onions, and blue cheese. First of all, the taste was rather unique. Once you get past that, the taste of the burger is absolutely nice. Tasty to the end and not too hard to down. Though I warn you that you should have extra napkins if you want to avoid the greasiness of the burger. The fries were quite good with their inclusion to the complementary mayo dip. Notice the nice tiny pickles on top of the burger. One of the more unique burgers I’ve tried so far and worth a visit.
