Mr. Lew’s Great Burger Search: The Annex - INTRODUCTION
Mr. Lew doesn’t just like to keep himself to burgers. From time to time, other restaurants are visited to see what Montreal truly has to offer. As always, all suggestions are welcomed.
Much like the burger search, I have a list of things I’m looking for:
“Best” Won Ton Soup in Montreal (You have a hard sell ahead of you.)
So, with further adieu, I present to you, La Banquise:

This restaurant has a reputation for having many different types of poutine. With over 25 varieties of poutine, the menu lists a all-star line-up that no one can ignore. I, myself, am a big fan of poutine. I needed to see what the hype was all about.

This is a poutine that includes fries, cheese curds, sauce, and bacon pieces.
Choosing from a list of over 25 varieties can be difficult, unless one of those options is very clear. I cannot ever turn away the challenge of a bacon poutine. Now, the portion size itself turns this poutine into a meal. The fries are made from red potatoes. Red potato fries are either hit or miss. In this case, they were appropriate. The cheese curds really needed to be drenched in the sauce to be more effective. The bacon itself can’t be denied. We all know that bacon makes everything better, including death, which is what completing this dish almost made me feel. The overall product was great in my opinion. All the components went well together and the bacon just made it so much better.
