For the last few months, when I noticed this restaurant touted lunch specials, I was wondering what that included. It wasn’t until a few weeks ago when I passed by and actually saw a menu. The location of this particular restaurant is wonderful. There’s no reason this place shouldn’t be packed as there are schools and office towers abound. When I entered, the place was about half full. I found the service to be a tad slow. With 3 servers, it seemed they were more concerned with the take-out orders than the sitting customers. It was also a little creepy to know that there was a manager person standing at the back door watching out on the room the entire time I was there.
This burger contains lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cheese, and bacon.
For a breakfast place, the expectations are never that high, that is, unless you’re talking about bacon. For a place like this, there is no excuse imaginable why the bacon can’t deliver. Bacon is bacon and it makes everything better. For this burger, it smelled good and it tasted fine, on its own. With the rest of the burger, it was a different story. The bacon kinda got lost. At times, I felt like I was eating McDonald’s, though that was very briefly. The meat, on its own, wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t memorable. The burger is okay, but I’d come here to try breakfast, not lunch.
The rest of the meal included a house salad. I couldn’t, for the life of me, figure out why there was one green and one red pepper in the salad. In my humble opinion, they have no place in salads like this. The highlight of the meal was definitely the potatoes. They tasted good, but there were so few of them.
The reason why I liked my visit to this restaurant was the inclusion of dessert at a whopping 95 cents. For price so little, you can sign me up for all the dessert you want. The chocolate cake tasted great, much like most chocolate cakes. I nice parting shot to a decent meal.
