I don’t tend to find myself in bars that ofter, or ever. However, if it has a menu and if it has a burger on it, I’ll make a stop in. The resto-bar is tended by one server. Even though things started out empty, business picked up as we reached noon. I have to give “big props” for all the Montreal Canadiens paraphernalia.
This burger contains lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cheese, and bacon.
The special unique feature of this burger is that it has two 4 ounce patties. If you do the math, that’s half a pound. I picked this one because I thought it was the biggest. After looking at the menu one more time, I notice the one patty burgers all added up to the same thing. I also thought I was brave to try this, but I was a little taken aback when I saw the option to take the burger challenge (48 ounces or 3 pounds).
The burger is best eaten when in combination with the rest of the ingredients. The best feature of this burger is the bacon’s intertwining relationship with the cheese. The bacon looked large and it tasted pretty good. On its own, the meat tastes fine, but it really needs everything at once. The bun is fine because you don’t find all the crumbs everywhere after you’re done. It is also a plus that none of this fell apart.
WAWARON BURGER CHALLENGE
Let me translate:
48 ounces of beef (3 pounds), with smoked bacon, swiss and melted cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pickles, and chipotle mayo served on a fresh bun accompanied by 1 pound of fries.
If ONE person completes the entire plate within the 30 minute time limit, they will receive the t-shirt, a photo on the wall of fame, and their meal will be completely free. Note: You can only successfully complete this challenge once.
Now that the explanations are over, comes my opinion. ARE YOU FREAKIN’ NUTS??? This reminds me of Man V. Food on Travel Channel. Back in the day, I’d be crazy enough to try this. Unfortunately, 50 pounds lighter and less of an appetite, I pass. I don’t think I’d be able to make it halfway through this behemoth. But I am tempted to try just so I can document what this thing looks like. Is someone that crazy?
