Visit: February 25, 2011
This is the second time that this location has been visited in the Great Burger Search. There are some differences from the first time. This time, there were a whole lot more people in the establishment. The owner of the restaurant was sitting near by with a plate of bacon, high quality bacon. I couldn’t help but notice how the staff (and I) were mesmerized by this awesome plate of bacony goodness. In a Mr. Lew GBS first, the server didn’t wait until I was done to give me the bill, a big no-no if you ask me.
The Dunn’s Famous Burger
This burger contains lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cheese, and smoked meat. Being that it is the second visit and all, I had to try something different, and that’s what happened. I am intrigued by smoked meat on a burger, ever since my visit to another similar establishment over a year ago. That’s where I should’ve stopped. The past should be the past. Within a fraction of a second, the burger fell apart. There was way too much between the two buns. The bun couldn’t support everything. I’m not saying anything about taste, because the smoked meat itself made everything better at the end. But, anything you have to eat completely with a fork isn’t a burger. A good burger has to be able to be picked up and I couldn’t even do that.
