Buns was recently voted the Montreal Mirror’s best burger of 2010. Out of the list of 5 top candidates, this was the only one I haven’t been to yet. The ordering is very simple thanks to the menu of only 4 items. Those four items are: burger, double burger, grilled potatoes, and soft drink. There is only one person working the counter, so the wait can be a little longer. The place is very small, so take-out is a better solution.
This burger contains tomatoes, lettuce, onions, pickles, and mozzarella. This is one huge burger. The burger had quite some trouble staying in the buns. The taste was alright, but the meat was a little undercooked for my taste. Plus, a lot of goop was just seeping out of the burger making napkin use a must. For those of you who want to try this establishment, I recommend going for a single patty instead.
I mistakenly ordered the side of grilled potatoes. This is not finger friendly food. Luckily, I was able to use a plastic fork to eat these. I will say that I was not really that impressed with this. I had a lot of trouble downing these and could not for the life of me, finish the whole thing.
The overall pricing makes this very affordable. You can get a whole meal for around 10 dollars or less. This is better is you do take-out, and I recommend skipping the potatoes because the burger will suffice on its own.
