What can 5 dollars get you in 2015? If I’m thinking right off the top of my head, there isn’t much of value that I can list for you. Though, if you consider a bag of chocolate raisins and some Ruffles for under 4 bucks something, that might be a start. What if I told you there’s a restaurant that sells every single one of its dishes for 5 dollars? Well, that is the case at Cinko.

Imagine spending years dedicating yourself to one thing. Imagine that thing brings people together and brings smiles to faces. When you make others happy, it brings a sense of satisfaction and it makes it easier to dedicate your life to that one thing. For 50 years, there has been one place doing that with pizza and it’s called Elio.

Poutine is one of the biggest parts of living in this city and there are so many places that cater to that very specific need. While searching for this city’s best poutine is very tempting, the thought of staying alive is much more appealing. So, I get my poutine fix while crossing off another burger from that never-ending list. This time, we find ourselves at Poutine Centrale.

The infancy of Mr. Lew’s Great Burger Search had its growing pains. Much like anything in life, it takes time to get into a groove. We all make a few mistakes along the way and with that being said, we always like to get a second chance. Interestingly enough, I’m not referring to a mistake made with a burger, but something even dumber on my part. This is why we’re back at Faste Fou.

It’s been a long day and you’ve been working for hours. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could find a place where you could unwind and relax? In this city, there are literally hundreds of places that can be used for that reason. But, how many of them provide you with the atmosphere you’re looking for? Well, things were rocking at Pub Victoria on the eve of hockey pre-season.

As the temperature dips and the desire to remain outside dwindles away, we can take that one moment to look back on the past few months. The summer was a time where we could literally stay outside forever without any care in the world. When you’re outside, what’s better than our food truck scene to compliment the nice weather.

When you’re on the run and you want something quick, there are a lot of places that can satisfy that requirement. There are also those times where you just know where you want and again, there are places for that. In the light of this search, there are those moments where I end up places that I didn’t know I would be there when the day started. That’s how I ended up at Le Bistro at Plaza Cote-des-Neiges.

Pizza is something that brings a lot of people together. I can’t count the number of weeks where my family bonded over pizza back in the day. These days, pizza is something that brings a lot of people together. This time around, our family gathered at Québec Déli.

Over ten years ago, Ontario street was a big part of my life and not because I really wanted it to be. I never thought much of the stretch I was part of and couldn’t really feel any pride about it. When you start exploring further, you’ll know that Ontario is more than what its reputation is and there are nicer places out there. Even with that, there are still those little neighborhood gems like La Pataterie.

Whenever you consult a list of this city’s best burgers, there is always a place that makes an appearance. Known for their oddly shaped burger patties and their over 50 years of serving this wonderful city, Mr. Steer has been an icon of Sainte-Catherine street. For the first time in almost 5 years, I made my return to truly assess its impact on the iconic burger.

At this moment, the school year is well underway and everyone is back doing what they do best or so I would hope. If you put yourself in the shoes of the young people who have just started cegep, you wonder where they are getting their food. Near most cegeps, there are places that everyone knows about and they’re always nearby. A place like that is La Roulotte in Sainte-Geneviève.

Over the last few years, I’ve been always keen on finding anything related to dessert. Sometimes, these places just fall on your lap when you least expect it. These are the places that no one ever hears about, but just pops up out of nowhere and then, you hear about them all over the place. That is the case with the relative upstart, Le Painnamou.

Let’s face it, 24 hours in a day just isn’t enough. As we get older and much busier, we find it hard to cram all our responsibilities into that finite amount of time. As we get older, our routines adjust to our biological clocks and for that, we need places to eat that respect that little quirk. Luckily, there are 24 hour restaurants that offer so much at all times of the day and one of those places is called Chez La Mère.

The last 5 years of going out to try restaurants has been an eye opening experience. I’ve had a chance to try so many things I wouldn’t normally eat. Over that time, there was one type of cuisine I haven’t had the chance to do and that was Mexican. Well, with a visit to El Sabor de Mexico, we can check another type of cuisine off that long list.

If you live or intend on visiting Montréal, there is a list of things that you have to experience. Some people know this place as that big orange sphere, while others know it as one of the most iconic places to eat on the entire island. The complete Montréal experience isn’t complete without a visit to Orange Gibeau Julep.
