This restaurant is unique for many reasons. First of all, it is the first burger search location in Old Montreal. My walk through the area garnered at least 6 more locations to visit through the future. Secondly, as I was consulting the menu outdoors, I was ushered in by an employee. Strange, but I was going in anyways, and I didn’t really need the convincing. The third unique point was that the food came through a window. In all of my life, I have never seen a meal being taken to table after being taken through a window. All in all, the service was considerate, though listening to the servers talk about their tips and strategies, was a little uncomfortable.
Burger w/Brie cheese and bacon
This burger contains greens, tomatoes, onions, Brie cheese, and bacon.
This burger contains a cheese that I just recently discovered for its complementary in this situation. Brie cheese works well in combination with bacon and beef. The taste is good and it does not overpower the burger whatsoever. The bun, in this burger, is not as soft as it could have been, but that didn’t really affect the overall taste. The bacon, as the meal progressed, started falling out. This was due to the fact that they were not in strips, but in pieces. This was not a big deal as I placed the pieces in the poutine for added oomph. Overall, the burger in consistent and does not force one to overdo themselves, especially when in combination with the salad and poutine upgrade.
The burger search also allows me to take in poutine from time to time. This restaurant has it in its name, so the expectations are huge. The poutine itself has all the proper ingredients for it to work. The cheese curds are good and its nice to see the strings come from it as you’re eating. The sauce compliments the fries well. It wasn’t a tough to poutine to eat at all. All the components were appropriately covered and nothing was cold. Cold parts are drawbacks to other poutine, but this one didn’t have that. During the meal, the pieces of bacon that I added just went so well with what I already had. I can only imagine how good the bacon poutine here must be.
